AI Transparency Notice

1. AI-Powered Service

mutedblue uses OpenAI's GPT-5 to generate personalized personality and compatibility reports. This page explains exactly how we use AI, what data we process, and the limitations of AI-generated content.

2. What Data We Collect

When you create a report, we collect:

• Required: Birthdate, country of birth, questionnaire answers (10 items, TIPI — Big Five), preferred report language
• Optional: Name, gender, time of day of birth, exact birth time, birth city
• Payment data: Processed securely by Stripe (we never see your full credit card details)

3. AI Model Information

Our reports are generated using:

• Provider: OpenAI
• Model: GPT-5
• Purpose: Analyzing personality dimensions, zodiac sign, and generating personalized written insights
• Your data is NOT used to train AI models (per OpenAI's API terms)

4. How We Generate Your Report

The complete process:

1. You complete the questionnaire: 10 items (TIPI) measuring Big Five personality traits
2. We calculate your personality profile: Your answers are analyzed to create detailed scores across all dimensions
3. We create a structured prompt: Combining your personality scores, zodiac sign (from birthdate), birth time if provided, and any optional demographic data
4. Data is sent to OpenAI: Via secure API connection. OpenAI does NOT use your data for training their models
5. AI generates personalized text: GPT-5 creates unique insights, affirmations, and analysis based on your specific data
6. PDF creation: We format the AI-generated text with charts and visualizations into a downloadable PDF
7. Storage: Your report data and PDF are stored in our Supabase database (EU servers) so you can re-download or create compatibility reports later

5. Limitations of AI

While our AI is powerful, it has limitations:

• Not Perfect: AI can occasionally produce errors, inconsistencies, or generic statements
• Pattern-Based: AI recognizes patterns but doesn't "understand" you as a human psychologist would
• Approximations: Insights are approximations based on questionnaire data, not comprehensive assessments
• Cultural Bias: AI models may reflect biases present in their training data
• Not Medical Advice: AI outputs are not clinical diagnoses or professional psychological advice

6. Data Storage & Security

How we store your data:

• Database: Supabase (EU-based servers, GDPR compliant)
• Stored data: Your questionnaire answers, generated report text, PDF file, unique access code
• Retention: Indefinitely (to enable re-downloads and compatibility checks), unless you request deletion
• Access: Only you can access your report via your unique short code
• Security: Encrypted transmission (HTTPS), secure database access controls

7. Data Privacy & AI

Your data and privacy:

• We send only necessary data to OpenAI (personality scores, zodiac info, optional demographics)
• OpenAI does NOT use API data to train models (per their terms)
• We do NOT sell or share your data with third parties for marketing
• You can request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting hello@mutedblue.com

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Know that AI is being used (which we disclose upfront)
• Understand how AI decisions are made (explained in this document)
• Request human review of your report if you believe there's an error
• Opt out by simply not using the service
• Request deletion of your data and generated reports

9. Reporting Issues

If you experience any issues with AI-generated content:

• Factually incorrect information
• Inappropriate or offensive content
• Technical errors in generation
• Concerns about bias or fairness
